THE STORY
Project Overview
NOTE: This project was created during my employment at New World Application Design & Development. I do not own any rights to this project.
The NYC Early Childhood Research Network was established to bring representatives from New York’s City agencies and researchers in the New York metropolitan area together to consider key research questions to benefit programs and policies serving children from birth through age 8.
DESIGN
My Role
As the Lead UI Designer, I was responsible for the front-end development of the user interface for all page as well as ensuring that the website was tested for responsiveness across mobile, tablet and desktop platforms.
CHALLENGE
The Problem
The NYC Early Childhood Research Network wasn’t happy with the overall look and feel of their research site which hadn’t had a design face-lift in a while. The client also felt that the information architecture wasn’t structured in a way that provided the best user experience for their users.
GOAL
The Solution
A new website was created to not only showcase the company’s brand in a new light but to also include new intuitive user features such as User Management, Email Sign-up, Administrator & Members Login as well as different levels of access to allow members to navigate through areas of the site with a user-friendly flow.
COVER AND MAIN SECTION
Home Page
Brand colors from the company's logo were incorporated into the overall thought process of the home page layout using blue as the main primary color to emphasize compassion, fostering growth in ones self and trust. Information on the previous layout was in need of better content organization.

An area of focus on the home page is a call-to-action section that was created to allow members to subscribe to the company’s mailing list.

The previous page layout didn't utilize space very well in structuring the content information.

A simple clean layout was used to highlight the company’s history and goals, incorporating engaging images to correlate to each content section.
